After much contemplation, planning, and negotiating with the North Pole, we have decided to keep our annual Santa Run tradition alive! However, due to the ongoing concerns over COVID-19 and to ensure the safety of our members, their families, and you and your families, we will be doing things little differently this year.
First, the Santa Runs will take place between 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. (with a short break in the middle of the day to feed the reindeers) over the next few weekends.
Second, we unfortunately will not be able to accept physical donations (monetary, food, etc.) during the runs as we have in the past. If you are interested in donating, please click the “Make a Donation” on the top left side of our page.
Please click here or visit our Santa Run page for additional details and the full schedule.
As always, we appreciate your continued support, patience, and understanding as we continue to navigate these unprecedented times.
Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, fire stations remain closed to the public, therefore, we will unfortunately not be able to host our annual Open House this year.

Due to the COVID-19 public health crisis and the implementation of social distancing, many events, including blood drives, have been cancelled. Due to this, blood supplies within our community and the nation are at dangerously low levels and dropping. While blood donations are not being used to treat patients with the coronavirus, there is still an urgent need for blood donations to be used for trauma emergencies, organ donations, and many other health crises.
To help maintain an adequate supply of blood, we have teamed up with Inova Blood Donor Services to hold a blood drive on Tuesday, March 24, 2020 from 3:00pm – 7:00pm in our hall parking lot (access via service road between the post office and fire station).
If you are eligible to donate blood, we would like to take this time to ask you to please consider donating blood; click here to make your appointment today. Please do not sign up or plan to donate if you are experiencing flu-like symptoms or symptoms consistent with COVID-19 as identified by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. (www.cdc.gov)
The blood mobile will be located in our hall parking lot and there will be plenty of space to spread out and use appropriate social distancing. To help protect our operational crews, access to the fire station and hall is prohibited – please go from your car to the bloodmobile and back. Please also ensure there is no contact with our operational personnel (who come and go from the building through other entrances/exits, to include responding through the large “garage” doors.
Please be assured that both BVFRD and Inova Blood Donor Services are taking the appropriate and heighted precautions to protect the health and safety of the donors and staff. To find out more about the precautions being taken by Inova Blood Donor services, please visit https://www.inovablood.org/inovabloodupdate/
Due to the ongoing concerns around COVID-19, station tours and non-fire department personnel visits to the fire station have been suspended at this time.
This includes bingo for Wednesday, March 18, 2020. A determination about March 25 will be made soon.
To keep up to date on COVID-19, please visit Fairfax County’s Health Department at https://www.fairfaxcounty.gov/health/novel-coronavirus
Please stay safe!
